Helpful Tips for Check Payments

These helpful tips will help us to apply your payments in a quick and accurate manner.

  • Write legibly on your check and statement(s).  Please write clearly so we are able to correctly determine how to apply your payment.
  • Fill in the “Amount Remitted” area on your statement(s). This will help to determine the correct amount you would like applied to your student loan(s).
  • Please make sure the amount of your check matches the amount entered on your statement(s). This will help us determine the amounts to be applied to your student loan(s).
  • Verify the written amount on your check is the same as the numeric amount on your check. Any discrepancy with the amounts on your check could cause a delay in the processing of your payment.
  • Please inform us of any specific payment requests. If there is a certain way you would like your payment applied, please inform us in writing.
  • Include your statement(s) with your check. It is important to include your statement(s) with your check because it is used to correctly apply your payment to your student loan(s).
  • Use the envelope provided to make your payment. Make sure to use the envelope provided with your statement(s). The barcode printed on the envelope is used by the post office to route the mail to us as quickly as possible.
